Posted on

Here is a recipe that will gladden the palate of many a chocoholics! Atleast, it made my grandson smile!

Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

½ cup butter /1 stick, unsalted/ 100 gm -at room temperature

6 tb sp sugar

6 tb sp brown sugar

½ cup cocoa

1 egg at room temperature

½ tsp vanilla essence

¼ tsp water

1 cup + 2 tb sp flour

½ tsp b soda

½ tsp salt

½ c chopped nuts ( optional)

1 cup  chocolate chips ( Hershey’s dark chocolate chips)

1. Cream together butter and sugar.

2. Stir in egg

3. Add essence and water

4. Sift flour, soda, and salt, mix with above

5. Add chocolate morsels.

6. Bake  at 190 degrees centigrade in a greased cookie sheet.

7.You can use the food processor for whisking, but add morsels after taking out the batter in another bowl.

8. Roll dough into a ball, place on baking tray, flatten a

bit and put 1 or 2  chocolate chips on top. Press lightly. Place the cookies  apart, as

they tend to spread.

Tips: Leave them to cool on tray, do not overcook. Do not worry if

cookies appear a bit soft. They tend to harden after cooling. Check the

bottom of the cookie with a wooden spatula to see if cooked before

removing/ or put a wooden skewer through. Once the cracks appear on

top, means the cookies are done.

Oven temp: 375 degrees F/190 degrees C

Time: 10 to 12 mts

Makes 2 dozen
