Make your life easy and learn how to bake the perfect soda bread whenever you want.
1 cup flour
1/2 cup whole wheat
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup yogurt, plus 2 Tbsp milk
1/2 cup chopped olives
1/2 cup cheddar, grated/Mexican style cheddar pepper jack
1/2 cup chives, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cumin
Preheat the oven at 180 C.
Whisk the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar together in a large bowl.
Whisk in the yogurt and olive oil.
Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and, using a sturdy rubber spatula gently mix until the dough comes together. You may have to add 2 tbsp milk, if the dough appears dry.
Stir in the cheese, olives and chives.
Grease your hands and knead the dough and shape it into an oblong shape.
Sprinkle some flour and cumin seeds.
Make slant gashes.
Bake at 180 C for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the bread is golden.
Rub some butter and wrap in a kitchen towel for it to remain soft.
