1½ tbsp. yeast

2 tsp sugar

1 tbsp butter

1 tsp salt

150 ml water

3 tbsp finely chopped garlic

2 tbsp chopped basil

Method:

Cheese and garlic bread ready to be popped into the oven

Take 2 tbsp of warm water and add in the yeast and sugar. Mix well, and leave it aside for about 10 minutes.

Take the flour in a warm bowl, and add the yeast mixture and other dry ingredients and half of the garlic and cheese.

Knead into a soft dough. Add the remaining cheese and garlic.

Knead well, and let the dough rise for about 40 minutes until it doubles in size.

Knock down the dough and shape into a loaf, and place it into a greased tin. Let the loaf rise.

Brush the top of the loaf with beaten egg, and sprinkle some cheese and sesame seeds on top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 225 degrees centigrade for about 30 minutes.

Serve warm with some soup and salad.
